Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Analyst (SAP) provides both analytical and hands‑on inventory control support to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy, system integrity, and operational continuity. This role is responsible for executing and troubleshooting SAP inventory transactions, supporting cycle counts and physical inventories, resolving inventory discrepancies, and serving as a key point of contact for system‑related inventory issues across warehouse, production, and supply chain operations. The position plays a critical role in supporting inventory controls, financial reporting, and audit compliance, while driving standardization and best practices within inventory management and during annual physical inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute and troubleshoot SAP inventory transactions to maintain accurate system inventory, including goods movements, transfer postings, cycle count adjustments, and stock status changes.

  • Reconcile inventory records in SAP, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances, negative stock, and COGI‑related issues.
  • Support cycle count programs, physical inventories, and audit activities, ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Perform bin‑to‑bin transfers, handling unit (HU) transactions, and inventory movements to maintain accurate warehouse flow.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory system issues across Warehouse, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory datasets used for reporting, analysis, and Power BI dashboards to support operational and financial decision‑making.

Drive standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement in inventory control processes and system usage.

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with SAP or other ERP‑based inventory applications required.
  • 2–5 years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school‑level math skills or higher, including basic inventory and quantity calculations.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and maintain accuracy in a transactional environment.
  • Solid business acumen with an understanding of inventory and operational impacts.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization and analytics tools.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and validate datasets used for inventory reporting and dashboarding.
  • Experience analyzing inventory trends, variances, and performance metrics using analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with extracting ERP‑based inventory data for reporting, visualization, and business analysis.

 

Language Skills

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
