Job Purpose

We are now accepting applications for a A-shift Maintenance Supervisor position, reporting to the Engineering Manager. This is a Salary position and to be considered you must meet the job requirements.  The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for plant maintenance, repair, and building and grounds.  This position supervises plant maintenance and building and grounds staff.  Additionally directs preventative maintenance programs, equipment installation, and removal. Schedules direct reports to support production and accomplish department goals. 
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but other duties may be assigned:

  1. Lead the Maintenance Team in the achievement of Safety / Environmental Targets as defined by the EOS MDI system.
  2. Be the Leader for EOS MDI, RCA and Continuous Improvement efforts.
  3. Investigates and implements opportunities to improve Sustainability activities in accordance with the Site’s objectives (particularly electricity and natural gas).
  4. Leads efforts related to TPM implementation and adherence.
  5. Supports site SMED activities as a means to improve O.E.E. (where applicable).
  6. Oversees the Maintenance Advancement program, facilitating skills achievement in the areas of Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Robotic and PLC (Programmable Controls) to grow the skill set of the team.
  7. Management of all plant preventative maintenance programs, including coordination, scheduling and verification of completion in the following areas:
    1. Plant production equipment
    2. Plant support equipment (i.e. boilers, compressors, fuel, water, oil, electrical systems)
    3. Lift equipment including fork lifts and hand trucks. 
  8. Building and grounds maintenance, including: heating, cooling, and building integrity. 
  9. Completion/closing of all projects on time and at budget.
  10. Management of the spare parts inventory including accurate parts identification, storage/organization, and replenishment.
  11. Demonstrate a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude as well as a behaviors consistent with support of successful, cost efficient, and customer oriented operation of the Richmond plant.
  12. Demonstrates “leadership by example” with high ethical standards.
  13. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directs all hourly maintenance employees including maintenance, building and grounds, and repair staff.  Insures adequate staffing and scheduling to support production and maintenance goals. 
 

Competencies:

  • Direct and perform, when required, highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to train, mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, electrical prints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Direct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. 
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material.

Education and/or Experience:

  1. A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  2. Two years of technical college, vocational school or equivalent formal education is preferred. 
  3. Three to five years industrial maintenance experience working on progressively more responsible projects and assignments.  
  4. Previous supervisory experience and/or demonstrated leadership ability required. 

 

Computer Skills:  Proficient computer skills are required, including ability to use MS office. Must have the ability to develop and analyze software applications and utilize software to meet department needs.

 

Language Skills:  Ability to read, write, and speak English is required. 

 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions,  division, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently in fast paced position requiring detailed exacting compliance. 

 

Travel Required:  Minimal.
