Job Purpose

Provide maintenance support to ensure continuous line production. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Team Leader assists the Maintenance Team Manager in coordinating assignments, establishing priorities, and recommending improvements. The Team Leader reports problems to the Maintenance Team Manager for direction and guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. Assists in the management of all plant preventative maintenance programs, including coordination, scheduling, and verification of completion in the following areas:

a. Plant production equipment

b. Plant support equipment (i.e. boilers, compressors, fuel, water, oil, electrical systems)

c. Lift equipment including forklifts and hand trucks.

2. Building and grounds maintenance, including: heating, cooling, and building integrity.

3. Assists in the completion/closing of all projects on time and at budget.

4. Assists in the management of the spare parts inventory including accurate parts identification, storage/organization, and replenishment.

5. Demonstrate a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude as well as behaviors consistent with support of successful, cost efficient, and customer-oriented operation of the Richmond plant.

6. Demonstrates “leadership by example” with high ethical standards.

7. Excellent interpersonal skills including: (a) ability to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (b) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (c) perform work activities requiring assistance in negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; (d) respond appropriately to criticism from managers and peers.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

· Two (2) or more years of industrial maintenance experience is required.

· Maintenance Class B or C required.

· Ability to work independently in fast paced position requiring detailed exacting compliance.

Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, division, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with some standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Competent computer skills are required, including ability to use MS office.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Coordinates assignments under the direction of the Maintenance Team Manager.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; traverse indoor and outdoor areas, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Must be able to traverse to working areas below and above floor level. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
