Job Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for EHS Manager (Environment, Health, and Safety) with responsibility for EnerSys operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute EnerSys’ environmental, health and safety program, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop, maintain, coordinate, and oversee environmental, health and safety auditing.
  • Manage and review EHS data reporting obligations to corporate and regional leaders, also coordinate all EHS related sustainability projects and data.
  • Responsible to participate in all EHS association meetings, manage initiatives on behalf of EnerSys and support other necessary needs identified by company executives.
  • Identify and evaluate existing and forthcoming applicable environmental, health & safety regulations and risks.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, industry meetings, or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks and goals as needed, including special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of EHS Regulations relating to Health, Safety, and Environment related to EnerSys operations.   (REACH, IPPC, Battery Regulation, H&S executive, DREAL, etc.).
  •  ISO 14001/45001 experience. 
  • Auditing and due diligence experience and training.
  • Understanding of workplace health monitoring programs as they relate to worker exposure in an industrial setting (e.g. air lead, air arsenic, air cadmium, noise etc.),
  •  Thorough understanding of risk assessment processes as they relate to environmental, health & safety issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 year degree in Health, Safety, and/or Environment or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional EHS experience, including a minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Fluency in English is Mandatory.
  • College Level Mathematics and science.
  • Reasoning Ability.
  • Basic MS Office, MS Teams.
  • Professional certifications in Health, Safety, or Environment would be a plus.

OTHER

  • Experience working with all levels of manage and be effective at solving problems.
  • Experience with contracts and working with legal counsel.
  • Experience of working with medical professionals, laboratories, etc.
  • Operational experience in Lean Management and 5S.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:  40 – 60%
