Job Purpose

Oversee production staff on assembly line to attain production and quality goals, ensure production resources are available, including materials, equipment, and human resources as needed to maintain production schedules.  Support continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, customer service, and across operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee activities on assembly line to ensure cabinets are built to work order specifications, meet Company workmanship and quality standards, and are completed in a timely manner. Assemble products as required and directed by the Supervisor.
  • Train assemblers to build and test cabinets, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and kits as defined in engineering drawings, bills of materials, work orders, pick sheets, work instructions, and test procedures. 
  • Work closely with production management, materials, planning, and shipping personnel to ensure production activities are completed on schedule.
  • Coach line staff in developing skills and performing tasks.  Provide performance management input to production supervisor or manager.  Ensure the day by hour boards are completed in a timely manner.  Use the data collected from production lines for continuous improvement.  Show proficiency in organizing and performing Kaizen events.
  • Review and track metrics for area to ensure goals are being met.
  • Lead and implement redline reviews, continuous quality improvement activities of the line, with other lines, and across production.
  • Demonstrate and foster a sense of urgency, strong commitment, and accountability while making sound decisions and achieving goals in production.
  • Promotes and ensures compliance with internal practices and external policies, procedures, guidelines, & regulatory requirements.
  • Attendance and completion of company sponsored leadership and business training and development classes.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts with the team and promote healthy, respectful communications.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s Degree and Green Belt Certification preferred.
  2. Minimum 3 years of production experience and/or experience in a lead capacity preferred.
  3. Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing, ISO quality procedures, and mechanical and electrical assembly preferred.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at an advanced    level not limited to: Word, creating Excel spreadsheets, graphs and charts, preparing presentations and using statistical software to analyze and interpret process data
  5. Leadership training, Process Improvement, High Performance Work Team and Team Leader experience, preferred.
  6. Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, written, verbal, and presentation skills required.  Ability to accurately and thoroughly document processes, procedures, and training documents.          
  7. Working knowledge of alarm systems, and AC and DC electrical currents, and ability to perform tasks associated with all production cells and areas preferred.
