Job Purpose

A Picker/Packer properly selects pre-determined material based on a production order; identifies the appropriate material required to be used for packing in accordance with customer specifications; completes packaging and prepares product for shipping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely identifies, locates, and pulls product based on daily production orders.
Maintains customer-specific packaging specifications for each order
Facilitates a streamlined workspace by keeping products and materials separated, organized, and properly rotated based on manufacturing date
Continually monitors the condition and quality of finished products and raw materials
Maintains required training and credentials to safely and effectively operate various pieces of material handling equipment including a Forklift, Banding Equipment, Pnuematic Manipulator, Pallet Jack and others
Utilizes a 5S and Lean approach to continuously improve day-to-day operational duties while identifying opportunities to improve processes
Keeps a clean, sanitary, organized, and safe work area that is free from debris and other hazards
This position will work primarily in a Warehouse environment with the constant use of material handling equipment
This position requires you to operate material handling equipment which includes a Forklift; all applicants must be in possession of an operator's certificate or have the ability to obtain a Forklift operator's certificate within 30 days of hire. EnerSys will provide the necessary testing and assessments required for an operator's certificate

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED from an accredited institution and at least 1-year experience in a warehouse, manufacturing facility or distribution center
Ability to use computer systems including Hand Held RF Scanners and desk top computers
Ability to read and interpret documents in English
Ability to complete basic mathematical functions including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and basic document control

General Job Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
