This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Our portfolio combines our stored energy expertise with power systems, enclosures, and renewable energy products to deliver world-class solutions for diverse applications such as 5G, broadband, Internet of Things (IoT), data center, and solar power. Our cutting-edge technology includes Lithium batteries, Fault Managed Power Systems, and Extended Run Time battery backup systems that improve the reliability and resiliency of broadband networks.

Job Purpose

Responsible for forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for our customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer data, and other sources.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Establish stocking levels to support customer forecasted demand
  • Cooperate with Customer Service teams for material availability concerns
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, shipping, receiving, pulling and packing teams to execute needed goals to end customers

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills 
  • Strong IT/systems use, with good Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of software related to demand planning is preferred
  • Experience managing internal communications, working cross-functionally to deliver results.
  • Be looking to continuously improve and can demonstrate ability to remain calm under pressure.
