This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

 

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to sustain the efficient operation of plant machinery and equipment.  This position researches, develops, and implements new processes, procedures, and equipment as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Support the troubleshooting, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical automatic and semi-automatic packaging machinery, equipment, and systems, including PLC machine controls, servo motor drive systems, robotics, computerized vision systems, AC and DC drives, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other electromechanical equipment.  Coordinate machine preventive maintenance.
  2. Research, design, procure, implement, test, and monitor new electrical and/or electronic systems, technologies, and equipment.
  3. Direct installation, integration, and operational testing of electrical and/or electronic equipment
  4. Obtain and maintain operational efficiencies of machinery and equipment.  Set and enforce standard performance specifications on current and new equipment, machinery modifications, and/or procedural changes; monitor performance variances.
  5. Manage several projects at one time.
  6. Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  7. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  8. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Complete knowledge of products and their applications.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing workflow, including planning activities
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  5. Self-motivation and ability to work without close supervision.
  6. Ability to work some weekends and holidays as needed to install machine retrofits and new equipment.
  7. Ability to be available during off shifts as necessary to assist with issues that may arise.
  8. Must be detail oriented and organized.
  9. Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns and provide project status.
  10. Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers.
