Job Purpose

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and reliability of all manufacturing equipment within the facility. The primary focus is on ensuring production equipment is maintained efficiently, downtime is minimized, and continuous improvement initiatives drive operational excellence.

The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership, fosters team development, and ensures that maintenance personnel receive the training and support necessary to excel. This position requires strong leadership capabilities – particularly in conflict resolution, accountability, and trust-building – to create a high-performing and cohesive team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

Ensure the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is accurately used for work orders and PM/TPM scheduling.

Project Management & Equipment Installation

Direct and assist with equipment installation, modifications, and major repairs and ensure all contractors and vendors comply with site safety protocols and work requirements.

Budget & Cost Control

Manage and monitor the maintenance budget for manufacturing equipment, including both capital projects and operating expenses, focusing on cost-effective maintenance solutions.

Team Leadership & Development

Direct and development shifts lead to strengthening leadership skills and encourage accountability.

Lean Manufacturing & 5S

Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing Lean practices within the maintenance department utilizing EOS standards.

Timekeeping & Compliance

Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll approvals for all maintenance personnel.

Leadership Alignment

Build Trust: Foster an open, transparent work environment where team members feel secure discussing challenges and proposing solutions.

Embrace Healthy Conflict: Encourage constructive debate and collaborative problem-solving to address maintenance-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical or maintenance-related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Proven experience with CMMS, TPM, and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of robotics and PLCs, Fanuc and RSLogix preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and manage maintenance budgets effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to use software tools for reporting and data analysis.

Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and other safety requirements in an industrial setting.
