Job Title:  Plant 2 Die Technician

Job Purpose

This position will be assigned to our plant 2 facility located at 1320 N Alliance Springfield, MO.

The Tool & Die Technician will maintain and/or machine tooling necessary for production. This includes diagnosing and repairing damaged or malfunctioning tooling both on the production line and in the shop. Cleaning and rebuilding tooling between production runs including fixtures, molds, rotary dies, and punch dies. Some production areas require the Tool & Die Technician to perform the change overs of tooling on the machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnoses damaged tooling and stamping dies and determines the method to resolve the problem.
• Installs and removes dies and tooling from machinery.
• Operating various machine tools to produce new parts and perform repairs.
• Performs regularly scheduled and preventive maintenance on tooling and dies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• General mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read measuring equipment.
• General knowledge of shop safety.
• Ability to use shop tools.
• Good time management.
• Self-starter.
• Safety minded.

Preferred:

• Ability to read critical dimensions on blueprints.
• Ability to disassemble clean and assemble tooling to critical dimensions.
• Ability to ensure proper function of tooling and make repairs as needed.
• Casting mold repair experience.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools.
• Manual machining experience to tolerance.
• Stamping die maintenance and setup experience
• Proficient with welding processes.
• Ability to make modifications per Engineering.
