This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

 

Job Purpose

  1. Providing leadership for engineers and technicians in process engineering by allocating resources, setting priorities, clearing obstacles, and following up as needed to produce results and develop teams
  2. Driving process engineering excellence to insure future product designs can be economically  manufactured
  3. Coordinating the debugging & qualifying of equipment
  4. Participating in advanced quality planning activities as needed to insure accuracy and quality of work by his/her staff is sufficient to drive the right product and process design decisions
  5. Conducting evaluations and providing input on subordinates performance.
  6. Responsible for Engineering schedules and budgets’
  7. Work with other engineering team members to design production equipment and tooling.
  8. Develop, test and implement new materials and processes for improved performance and/or lower cost and lead cost reduction efforts in assigned process areas
  9. Lead initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and/or equivalent Engineering experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously as a team member.
  3. Must be detail-oriented.
  4. Ability to train and develop personnel through monitoring, measuring & improving practices.
  5. Must be well organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks in a controlled manner.
  6. Effective communication skills both oral and written
  7. Computer literacy including design software and Microsoft Office.
  8. Ability to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  9. Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.

 

Qualifications

  1. Manual dexterity sufficient to effectively use a computer keyboard.
  2. Visual acuity to interact with computer terminal.
  3. Mobility to move about the production facility.
  4. Mobility to travel via ground or air transportation to vendors and supplier facilities.
