Hybrid Work Schedule: 3 Days On-Site in Springfield, MO and 2 Days Remote

This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Job Purpose

This position is part of the Transportation Engineering Team and is responsible for creating and maintaining Transportation and Specialty product finishing designs (Branding & Packaging), BOMs, cost estimates, and reference documentation. The role also includes providing support to the production facility as needed, particularly in areas related to branding and packaging.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed drawings for assembly and packaging components for both manufactured and purchased items.
  • Design and update product branding elements, including labeling, to support Sales and Marketing objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements for packaging and marking.
  • Create 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, as needed for design and development.
  • Build and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production across multiple ERP systems.
  • Execute design releases and manage changes in accordance with established system procedures.
  • Track, manage, and report on assigned design projects to ensure progress and alignment with goals.
  • Verify and reconcile design outputs to ensure they meet defined input requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, cost-effective, and high-quality design solutions.
  • Release and maintain all relevant reference documentation.
  • Ensure all designs meet applicable customer specifications and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (bachelor’s preferred).
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator or similar graphic design software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CAD software and SolidWorks preferred.
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems (Windchill or Baan preferred; SAP a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interact professionally with customers, field sales, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in a quality-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Experience generating and managing engineering change documentation and related processes.

LOCATION: Springfield, Missouri

TRAVEL REQUIRED:  Less than 15% travel as required.
