This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

 

Job Purpose

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in assembling parts or assemblies into units. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Assigns duties and examines work for quality and conformance to policies and procedures. Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.

Responsibility - Responsibility for a functional area within a department at a single location. Job performance affects functions and activities within organizational unit.

Autonomy - Receives well-defined goals and objectives. Exercises independent judgment and makes routine decisions using existing guidelines. May have hiring authority.

Supervision - Supervises activities of non-management employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manages the activities of the department under the direction of the Area Manager.
  2. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the Production Associate’s activities, providing clear direction in their responsibilities and daily activities.
  3. Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
  4. Provides job/skills-based training to grow the business and to replace employees lost to attrition.
  5. Participates in the development of a close communication link between the shop personnel, Engineering, and Quality to improve profitability through greater efficiency, reduced scrap and rework costs and improved overall quality.
  6. Works closely with others in establishing schedules to satisfy manufacturing requirements and provide for the lowest cost in goods produced while meeting quality and schedule requirements.

Qualifications

  1. Requires a B.S. Degree in a related field, or 3 to 5 years of progressive manufacturing experience and responsibilities.
  2. Familiarity with management principles and practices through significant manufacturing management experience. Willingness to improve skills through training and/or other learning activities as required.
  3. Interpersonal skills to manage large workgroups.
  4. Demonstrated effective leadership skills to model for subordinate supervisors in dealing positively with employees, vendors, and customers.
  5.  Effective oral and written communication skills, including computer literacy.
  6. This position requires that the person be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently.
