Job Purpose

Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the mechanical developments in the areas of design, documentation, development, fabrication, schedule and testing of tooling and automation to produce all batteries and company products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Be the site expert for Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Design and oversee the fabrication of production tooling as required for company products.
  3. Direct installation, integration, and operational testing of mechanical and/or electronic equipment.
  4. Debug, problem solve current and new processes.
  5. Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems. This includes undertaking Lean Manufacturing, RCA, 5s, Kaizen projects and creating Standard Work. Manage and lead A3 projects.
  6. Generates project plans, request CapEx funding, performs budget maintenance, and resource coordination for assigned projects.
  7. Research, design, procure, implement, test, and monitor new systems, technologies, and equipment.
  8. Manage several projects/task at one time.
  9. Create and maintain assembly drawings, component drawings, packaging drawings & bills of material.
  10. Works with outsourced component designs and quotes.
  11. Perform FEA and simulation.
  12. Conform to all safety rules and all appropriate safety equipment.
  13. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead and mentor Engineers.

May lead Core Teams through the MDI process.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  1. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  2. Minimum 10 years Mechanical Engineering experience.
  3. Minimum 6 years Design Engineering experience preferred.
  4. Solidworks experience preferred.

Language Skills

  1. Fluent English
  2. Basic Spanish or French could be benifical

Reasoning Ability

  1. Logical thinking to solve problems.
  2. Strong troubleshooting skills

Computer Skills

  1. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  2. SolidWorks 3D CAD.

Vault system for file management.
