Job Purpose

The Shipping & Receiving Operator coordinates shipping documents and reconciles production reporting daily; prepares transport documents for out-of-country shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate receipt, filing, and accuracy of shipping documents
  • Prepare shipping documents, including out-of-country shipments. Ensures required documents are accurately completed and maintained in an orderly file.
  • Accurately and timely completes entries into BAAN/SAP
  • Creates plan shipment documents
  • Provides backup coverage for Logistics Specialist and other department employees when assigned.
  • Must be able to operate a lift truck, and have or be able to obtain a forklift truck license
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an administrative support role and or shipping receiving position at a manufacturing facility or distribution center
  • Ability to use computer systems including MRP and MS office
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in local language, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to do mathematical functions, including add, subtract, multiply, divide, interpret Pareto Charts, Bar graphs, Flow charts, and other quality tools
  • This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific driver’s license and have additional driving requirements.

  • Must be able and willing to operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Exposure to; electromagnetic fields of varying intensity and or frequency
  • Must be able and willing to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
