Job Purpose

We are currently looking for an experienced Distribution Center Supervisor.  The incumbent must interact effectively with people at all levels, both inside and outside of the company. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
  • Interacts with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company.
  • Carrying out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, local regulations, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
  • Managing, prioritizing, coordinating, and assigning the daily activities of the warehouse staff.
  • Working with the office employees to manage daily, weekly, and monthly workload to the operation.
  • Overseeing and ensuring all company policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Interviewing, hiring, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations for warehouse employees.
  • Assisting in the training of warehouse employees such as forklift training, ISO policies, housekeeping, and safety procedures.
  • Providing support, direction, and coaching to subordinate employees in the areas of disciplinary action and problem resolution.
  • Maintaining and up-keep of all building operations such as HVAC, electrical, telephones, safety equipment, and company machinery.
  • Assisting with planning and developing the departmental budgets, and monitoring expenditures.
  • Managing overall inventory control procedures, such as, but not limited to, physical inventory cycle counts and reconciliation of discrepancies as required.
  • Maintaining all corporate metrics related to the distribution center, customer service, on-time delivery, and budgets.
  • Implementing change, improving processes, leading teams, operations planning, and general distribution operation management.
  • Being responsible for inventory, inventory rotation, and inventory accuracy.
  • Following packaging and shipping specifications by customers or ISO standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or 3 years of Distribution management experience.
  • Must have computer skills using Microsoft Office.
  • Previous management experience; ability to lead, supervise, and train employees.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some manufacturing, assembly, or electrical experience is a plus.

  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
