This position it is located in Springfield (prefered) OR Warrensburg, MO with a chance of working a few days remote.

Job Purpose

This position will be part of the Transportation Applications Engineering Team. The Engineering Designer will be responsible for creating and maintaining Transportation and Specialty product finishing designs (Branding & Packaging), BOMs, cost estimates, and maintenance of reference documentation as well as help support the production facility as needed regarding branding and packaging.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed assembly and packaging component drawings for make and buy items.
  • Create and maintain product branding (labeling) as needed to support Sales & Marketing goals.
  • Understand and comply with internal and regulatory packaging and marking requirements.
  • Create 3-dimensional CAD (SolidWorks) models as needed.
  • Create and maintain product BOM’s for production using several different ERP systems.
  • Execute design releases and changes in accordance with the required system procedures.
  • Manage, track and report design projects as assigned.
  • Verifying, reconciling, and reporting the design outputs relative to the inputs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure a timely, low-cost, high-quality design.
  • Release and maintain reference documentation.
  • Follow and ensure customer specifications are met.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator or similar graphic design software.
  • Preferable 2+ years experience in a quality driven manufacturing environment generating and handling engineering change documentation and processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of software, CAD, SolidWorks preferred
  • Understanding of ERP systems. Windchill / Baan preferred. SAP a plus.
  • Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with customers, field sales and company contacts.
     

LOCATION: Springfield or Warrensburg, Missouri

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Less than 15% travel as required.
