Job Purpose

The Maintenance Supervisor position will maintain facility and equipment needed for fabrication, welding, and powder coating steel components. The Supervisor will direct maintenance personnel, drive sustainability, implement TPM, ensure PM’s are done in a timely manner, and solicit quotes from vendors.  The Maintenance Supervisor will interact with the Sumter Management Team to provide facilities and maintenance support as needed.

The Maintenance Supervisor will support production by minimizing downtime and ensuring critical equipment running needed to support our customers.  This is an administrative position and will require scheduling overtime and providing on-call support as needed to support Production.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Safety is our top priority.  The Maintenance Supervisor must prioritize safety for ALL associates and actively participate in Safety Audits
  • Must be able to satisfactorily perform all duties and responsibilities referenced in the work instructions for this position.
  • Must provide after-hours support, as needed, for all shifts.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics needed for repair, installation, or extraction of production machinery.
  • Must have proven knowledge and skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain metal fabrication production equipment, understand building and grounds maintenance needs, and material handling equipment including forklifts and hand trucks.
  • Must have proven knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and repair 3-phase 120, 240 ,480-volt electrical circuits, as well as 12, 24, 120, 240, & 480 volt single-phase electrical circuits, DC circuits voltages, motor control circuits, pneumatic system/circuits, hydraulic system/circuits
  • Project management skills are critical. This includes materials and labor needed to complete the project.
  • Daily activities including PM Schedules, performing PM’s, ordering parts, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrate “leadership by example” with high ethical standards and communication skills,
  • Demonstrate a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude towards employees, customers, and vendors. 
  • The Maintenance Supervisor reports problems, with potential solutions, to the Plant Manager for direction and guidance.

The Maintenance Supervisor should have a minimum of an Associates’ Degree with 5 to 10-years related experience and/or training; a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-related discipline is preferred.

  • LEAN background
  • eMaint exposure preferred
