Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the VP, Renewable & Industrial Energy Storage Systems, the Director, Industrial Systems will lead the Industrial and Traffic power conversion and energy storage team responsible for business operations for this $20M+ business segment. This position will also be responsible for working with and as part of the broader Renewables & Industrial leadership team to establish and execute strategies to dramatically grow the size of the Industrial and Traffic business with the goal of doubling the business within 3 years.

This position will have direct organizational responsibility for applications engineering, product management, Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Configure-to-Order (CTO) processes, release-to-manufacturing processes, and customer service and satisfaction for the Industrial and Traffic product lines. Sales, Manufacturing and back office functions are matrix organizations for these product lines. With a focus on operational improvement and process streamlining, the Director, Industrial Systems will act as a “player-coach”, leading by example to coordinate and improve the sales and order entry process, ETO/CTO processes and release-to-manufacturing process in conjunction with the Sales and Operations teams to achieve and exceed revenue and profitability targets.

With the ability to be a strategic and creative thinker, the Director, Industrial Systems will be instrumental in further developing plans and strategies, in conjunction with the executive team, for long term profitable growth, increased market share and continued superior customer experience.

The ideal candidate will be a hands on, results-driven leader with strong team management skills and the ability to inspire excellence in his/her team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the Industrial and Traffic business
  • Ensure revenue and profitability targets for the Industrial and Traffic business are met
  • Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business
  • Measure, monitor and improve critical business processes and key performance indicators for those processes
  • Develop performance goals for direct reports and measure performance
  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers
  • Engage in targeted customer activities
  • Communicate strategy and results to the unit's employees
  • Engage with Renewables & Industrial leadership in broader organizational strategic planning
  • Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of business experience within an Industrial systems environment
  • 5+ years leadership experience with a proven track record of driving and personally participating in profitable growth.
  • A history of success in the power conversion, battery and/or Industrial community
  • Understand industry specific landscape and trend, market indicators and competitors.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales and operations processes, mechanisms and tools including CRM’s, ERP’s, analytical analysis, etc.
  • Understanding of Digital Platforms for sales and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the internal organization and to external customers.
  • Excellent organization skills, analytical ability, planning, monitoring and coaching skills
  • Ability to travel required.
