This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is for installation, setup, troubleshooting, repair, preventive, and predictive maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems/components in support of EnerSys production equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for emergency response to capacity loss and capacity reduction breakdowns.
- Investigates/troubleshoots production equipment problems; makes quick decisions on adjustments and repairs.
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation for electrical equipment.
- Works with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize and improve production equipment designs to meet uptime and throughput goals.
- Carries out preventative maintenance on production equipment and tools.
- Creates, maintains and updates periodic ( TPM ) maintenance procedures.
- Maintains and Manages critical spare parts inventory for maintenance and repair requirements.
- Starts and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Training – receives and conducts training on new/upcoming equipment systems.
- Provides procedural instruction and guidance to trainees, and production employees regarding equipment operation/support requirements; trains on preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.
- Analyze and correct electrical problems and repair electrical equipment and controls.
- Advises and cautions operators and maintenance personnel about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective actions taken.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Associates Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent training.
- 2 years of experience with manufacturing/automated equipment repair
- and maintenance.
- Proficient in use of electrical test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, ) and basic measurement tools (caliper, height gauge).
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to utilize specialized tools and training to repair and calibrate complex equipment.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair systems and equipment.
- Programming experience with automated factory equipment including Vision Systems, PLC Control Systems, Robotic Placement Systems and Motion Control.
- Fundamental understanding of manufacturing operations.

- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
