This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.


Job Purpose

Performs a variety of activities for the development and maintenance of Lean and Continuous Flow Manufacturing (CFM) methods.  Develops and/or reviews manufacturing processes and material flow, engineering specifications, assembly documentation, tooling requirements, time standards, and design for manufacturability improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of processes to improve quality, cost efficiency, and capacity utilizing Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Lean, and Continuous Flow Manufacturing (CFM) methods
  • Verify manufacturability per engineering specifications, identify critical design / process quality requirements, ensure workmanship standards for products can be ensured through proper tooling, fixturing, and / or assembly aids
  • Assist in the design and implementation of manufacturing methods to include: Line design, process and material flow, tooling design and definition, integration of quality, and development of assembly documentation
  • Assist in the maintenance and establishment of routings for new and existing products
  • Participate in the design of facility layouts
  • Participate in work teams to pursue continuous improvement of processes and the working environment at the facility
  • Supervise manufacturing personnel as required


Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree  - manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering     
•    Minimum 3 years related experience    
•    Ability to take on a wide range of activities
•    Strong commitment to the team concept
•    Ability to carry out responsibilities in an orderly fashion within a fast paced environment

Desired Qualifications

•    Working knowledge of Photo Shop
•    Solidworks or similar CAD/CAM Experience
