This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

 

Job Purpose

The Production Planner will oversee the planning for an assigned group of products to ensure they are manufactured and delivered in most cost-efficient timeline to meet customer expectations.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare production schedule for assigned products and/or customers, coordinating purchased and intermediate materials, outside services and equipment requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to provide committed delivery dates to customer service team.
  • Coordinate multiple activities and priorities to ensure production flow is maintained.
  • Work with Production team to monitor and schedule equipment and labor capacity. 
  • Work with customer service team to determine priorities and initiates action when changes in the forecast and/or resources dictate re-evaluation of existing schedules. 
  • Analyze MRP, inventory levels, forecast and history to ensure appropriate communication or action is taken.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and departments across the site to proactively resolve Operations issues
  • Engage in the daily Operations accountability meetings to support shop floor in hitting plant targets through continuous improvement action.
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement in Planning and Supply chain functions.
  • Effectively implement new products into the planning process by working with Engineering and Sales teams on introduction into plant.
  • Ensure production capacity and resources are used effectively to meet the production schedule and customer expected response times.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and facilitate their implementation through insightful and critical thinking using Lean manufacturing tools.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO work instructions
     

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-year degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years in high volume assembly/manufacturing
  • APICS certification preferred
  • In depth working knowledge of an MRP/ERP (prefer SAP) system’s Planning module to manage production schedules to meet customer expectations.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with state-of-the-art supply chain techniques as it relates to supply chain and planning
