This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.


Job Purpose

Oversee the manufacture and delivery of the highest quality products in the most cost-efficient, timely and safest manner to meet or exceed customer expectations. Provide results driven technical and administrative leadership in the Assembly, Quality Assurance, and Water Spider functions. Key areas of accountability include leading all department activities, planning, resource management, training, quality, and continued improvement of responsible areas.

As a member of the Alpha Technologies Services Team, you will conduct business according to the details of your job description and the employee manual, with a commitment to continuous improvement and respect for people. 


 This is a 2nd shift position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Determine priorities, set tasks, direct workflow, outline materials methods, and provide direction for assembly and QA personnel that meet the business plan and work force utilization requirements. Directly manage those personnel assigned including staffing and personnel placement, employee relations, performance appraisals, discipline and termination, salary administration, mentoring, and career development.    
•    Establish departmental goals and objectives that provide world-class performance to the organization. Establish and track meaningful departmental reports & measurements. Ensure proper execution through the use of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and metrics.  Ensure MDI Level 6 Boards are filled out hourly by production members, and issues are addressed as needed.  Ensure that the Company Escalation Policy is followed.
•    Coordinate and communicate with other department representatives to ensure Assembly and QA activities are aligned to achieve the schedule, fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, ensure on-time delivery, and meet or exceed customer requirements and business goals.
•    Develop, update, and implement operating and quality control procedures, and ensure they are met. Ensure established procedures and processes are followed. Proactively lead the Assembly and QA team to continuously improve processes and procedures.
•    Ensure accuracy of data in the SAP system including location, WO confirmations, quantity on hand, etc. 
•    Champion continuous improvement efforts with the Assembly and QA Team. 
•    Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
•    Organize and maintain Assembly and QA areas for efficient material flow, storage and handling, including labeling, age sensitive materials, and single piece flow.
•    Participate in and support safety audits.  Review and ensure compliance with the Company's safety program.
•    Champion continuous improvement efforts with the team and promote healthy, respectful communications.
•    Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
•    Improve Production Absorption Hours  


  • Four Year Degree.  Engineering Degree Preferred.   
  •  Minimum five years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum two years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  •  Knowledge of Lean, Toyota, Demming, 6Sigma (Variation Reduction), and other similar Process Improvement  tools preferred.
  •  Demonstrated proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at an advanced level not limited to: Word, creating Excel spreadsheets, graphs and charts, preparing presentations and using statistical software to analyze and interpret process data. SAP experience preferred. Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, and thorough with strong planning, organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, written, verbal, and presentation skills required.  Ability to accurately and thoroughly document processes, procedures, and training documents;
