This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.


Job Purpose

Manage and ensure the purchasing of materials, services, and/or equipment for the assigned purchasing portfolio, within the set procurement policies and guidelines, to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost within specifications. #SUW

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish priorities for assigned commodities with key vendors and ensure priorities are maintained
  • Interact with engineering department to assist in the sourcing of materials, with respect to cost, quality, and availability of materials
  • Generate reports per specified processes that measure key buyer performance metrics
  • Develop specific purchasing material plans for assigned commodities
  • Reviews customer orders on a daily basis
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy
  • Contact potential vendors, perform reference checks, review quotations, and evaluate each purchase requisition for the most appropriate method of procurement. Methods may include discrete orders, vendor managed programs or replenishment programs
  • Maintain on-going vendor performance metrics, provide vendor feedback, and facilitate vendor performance improvement projects where appropriate
  • Establish objectives for reducing the cost and increasing service to end-users
  • Continuously strive to reduce the cost of assigned commodities
  • Reduce inventory levels through the effective management of materials and suppliers
  • Interact with engineering department to assist in the sourcing of materials, with respect to cost, quality, and availability of materials
  • Ensure accuracy of standard costs for purchased parts
  • Maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts to improve cost, quality, and delivery metrics



  • 4-5+ years experience in a similar position
  • At minimum High School Diploma, preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field
  • Knowledge of software programs, including MS Office, etc.



  • Foreign language is a plus, English a must
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of MRP and ERP
  • 4-year college degree or higher in business or related field
