This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.


Job Purpose

Manage the daily operations of the Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management for the Suwanee site Warehouse, shipping and receiving activities to deliver efficient results and exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate the movement, storage, and placement of all materials at the site 
  • Develop and manage Lean material management solutions inside the site to minimize inventory, eliminate wasted movement and ensure on time shipments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the ERP system of all material transactions  
  • Ensure timely restocking and accurate inventory placement of all materials
  • Facilitate the daily EnerSys Operation System (Lean) program for area of responsibility to drive continuous improvement with an emphasis on mentoring the team to reach the department goals and improvement plans
  • Manage the process for preparation of materials for production work orders, vendor-managed goods, and internal requests for materials from other EnerSys locations
  • Directly manage those personnel assigned including staffing and personnel placement, employee relations,   performance appraisals, discipline, and career development.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and facilitate their implementation through insightful and critical thinking using Lean tools.
  • Maintain ISO processes and SOX compliance for areas of responsibility.
  • Drive and coach implementation of Lean principles to EnerSys standards.
  • Maintain ERP inventory, locations and ensure transaction accuracy
  • Manage the cycle count program and thorough root cause of any discrepancies.
  • Represent the department in all inter-departmental functions related to inventory control issues and procedures
  • Perform periodic reporting and accounting of inventory variances, inventory accuracy, back flush logs and serial number logs
  • Maintain space required to provide optimum material flow
  • Work collaboratively with other EnerSys team members, departments and sites across the corporation to proactively resolve personnel, organizational, and other issues that may arise within assigned scope.
  • Create and coach an inclusive and positive work culture, through our EOS tools, and development of and implementation of development plan for the team and its individual members.
  • Prepare annual departmental budget including: staffing requirements, capital equipment, and operation expenditures and operate department within budget


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of operations or business      
  • 10 years’ experience inventory control or materials management within a manufacturing environment    
  • 5 years leadership and management experience in materials management.
  • Well versed with ERP systems and able to understand all aspects of material transactions. SAP experience preferred.
  • APICS & CPIM certification preferred
  • Ability to interface and communicate professionally with all levels of management, production, sales, engineering
  • Ability to function in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to positively coach and motivate team  members and resolve conflict
