Job Purpose

The PM position will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to develop and manufacture new battery cell products for customers in the aerospace and medical device fields.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, establishing, and maintaining the project forecast, controlling budget and schedule, and ensuring the project team meets customer expectations.  The PM will be the primary person responsible for project related communication with external customers, internal project teams, and EnerSys management. This position reports to the Plant Manager. This position has no direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to make project teams more efficient and more cost effective.
  • Lead new bid and proposal efforts.
  • Responsible for pricing, gross margin and schedule compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Exemplify leadership and management skills to direct the project teams in the development of battery cell hardware for medical & aerospace projects, and miscellaneous R&D efforts. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact with external customers on all project-related matters, including reviews and technical interchange meetings.
  • Lead internal and external project meetings and reviews to highlight progress and ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Apply knowledge of key project management processes.
  • Ensure that all SOWs, specifications, and contractual requirements are understood and satisfied.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 5 years of aerospace or medical device hardware experience required
  • 5+ years project management or business development experience required
  • Familiarity with Li-ion battery technologies preferred
  • Familiarity with cost plus projects and earned value management preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, Visio, Project, and MS Teams
  • This position performs work for the US Government and is controlled by export restrictions. Therefore qualified candidates must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
