Job Purpose

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the quality of assigned products with emphasis on medical and aerospace commodities.. This role will work with the process engineer and inspection personnel to understand, analyze, and improve existing process, inspection, and test techniques using various analysis methods including MiniTab and Excel functions.  Develops and implements test and inspection techniques, and improves test equipment usage and reliability

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on production and quality data to determine compliance to internal metrics
  • Work with internal and external teams to address root causes and implement and maintain corrective actions.
  • Support production team by providing Quality and QMS support
  • Publishing data sheets, reviewing and approve production and QMS Documents
  • Audits, selects and works with suppliers to improve product quality.
  • Sets up and manages test regimes to determine product quality.
  • Implements new inspection skill sets based on new product requirements.
  • Writes test plans, coordinates and executes testing, writes engineering, process validation, and quality test reports.
  • Develops and documents inspection plans to inspect inbound material.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree (Science or Engineering) or equivalent in related field is required.
  • Minimum 2+ years Quality Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Background in ISO9000/AS9100D and ISO13485:2016 and/or AS9100
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools, Minitab or Equivalent
  • Ability to interact with diverse work force 
  • Ability to work under demanding environment 
  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, 3D pring technology are a plus
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
