Compensation Range: 88,000 - 110,000 

Compensation may vary based on the applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

EnerSys, the Global Leader in stored energy solutions, is looking for a Sales Manager to oversee our California markets.  We are looking to fill this position with a highly driven and goal orientated individual that possesses the ability to develop a team focused on solution selling and bringing new technologies to the market.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train the field representatives in solution-selling skills necessary to support new technology sales
  • Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions, and campaigns 
  • Setting discount rates and determining pricing schedules 
  • Preparing sales budgets and approving expenditures 
  • Directing sales activities locally and regionally
  • Identify methods to maintain and grow our market leadership position  
  • Lead by example in the development of our people
  • Assist field representatives in bringing full sales-service packages to dealers and end-users 
  • High level of customer relationship management and organizational skills 
  • Be a liaison between the company and the field representatives; facilitate the business process and assist with problem resolution
  • Maintain a personal presence with field representatives and major accounts 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year accredited university or a minimum of 4 years of proven successful sales and/or sales management experience 

  • Material handling knowledge and electrical experience preferred 

Language Skills:

  • Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. 

Mathematical Skills: 

  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.   

Reasoning Ability: 

  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

Computer Skills:  

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience using MS Office, spreadsheets, and salesforce experience is also preferred. 

General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Risk of electrical shock.
