Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is for installation, setup, troubleshooting, repair, preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems/components in support of EnerSys Inc. production equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • include the following.  Other duties may be assigned or requested.
    ⦁    Following all safety standards/regulations
    ⦁    Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing process control systems.
    ⦁    Troubleshooting malfunctions in mechanical, electronic, or computer systems.
    ⦁    Working with various instruments and controls, such as switches, circuits, and databases
    ⦁    Documenting all stages of repair, parts requests, and preventive maintenance in the CMMS.
    ⦁    Emergency response to production capacity loss/reduction breakdowns.  Investigates/troubleshoots all on and offline production equipment problems; makes quick decisions on adjustments and repairs.
    ⦁    Supports production uptime and root cause analysis.
    ⦁    Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation for electrical equipment.  Starts and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
    ⦁    Receiving and conducting training on new/upcoming equipment systems.  Provides procedural instruction and guidance regarding equipment operation/support requirements.
    ⦁    Analyze and correct electrical problems and repair electrical equipment and controls.  
    ⦁    Advises and cautions operators and maintenance personnel about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved.
    ⦁    Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective actions taken.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

    COMPETENCIES: Strong electrical and electronic knowledge. Background in Allen Bradley software: Connected Components Workbench, Studio 5000, RSLogix 5/500/5000.
     

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical education in electronics: AA Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent training

Language Skills: Fluent verbal and written English

Mathematical Skills: Intermediate math

Reasoning Ability: High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to self or others.  Exposed to high electrical voltage.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills in Allen Bradley software as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift license within first week of acquiring position
 

General Job Requirements

  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
