This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

 

Job Purpose

The person in this position is responsible for designing, implementation, maintenance, and repair of the organization's databases. The role includes collaboration with other IT staff, managers, and users for the development and design of databases. Monitor and improve database and server performance, capacity, and plan for future expansion requirements. They may also plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard the database. Also, must have knowledge working with web technologies to build custom web applications. Must have some knowledge on legacy MS Access database to maintain and convert to web applications. Works with minimal supervision, assists in analysis and design activities associated with the development and maintenance of the database. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Database (MSSQL)
    • Maintain existing database
    • Create new SQL database
    • Create Store Procedures, Views
    • Must be able to use SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
  • MS Access
    • Maintain existing databases
    • Able to fix corrupt database
    • Must have some VBA knowledge
    • Be able to covert database tables over to SQL
    • Re-create MS Access interfaces into Web Interfaces
  • Front End Web UI
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
    • Responsive Layout Design - Bootstrap, Foundation, Semantic
    • Be able to build and maintain code
    • IIS knowledge is required to load files to web server
    • Web API’s (REST, JOSN, SOAP)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Management and Documentation
    • Gather project requirements
    • Create project plans
    • Execute projects plans within scope
    • Document all stages of the project
    • Agile or Kanban project management is helpful
  • Software - Must have some knowledge of the following
    • Visual Studio
    • SSMS - SQL Server Management Studio
    • ISS - Internet Information Services
    • Windows Server Environment
    • Web Development Stack 
      • HTML, JS, PHP , MSSQL (Current Stack)
      • HTML, JS, .net with C#, MSSQL(Corporate Stack)
    • JS base charting platforms (HighCharts, Chart.js, D3.js)
    • Frontend Frameworks - Angular, React, Vue (would be helpful)
