Job Purpose

EnerSys is currently seeking a Production Control Coordinator to support production planning and manufacturing schedule adherence at the Warrensburg, Mo manufacturing facility.


This position will create production plans and coordinate with Operations management to ensure schedule adherence in support of delivering finished product to our end customers. In addition this position will create and maintain planning tools necessary to ensure capacity constraints are always considered in the creation of proposed daily/weekly/monthly production schedules.  Must have an in depth understanding of production planning procedures and capacity planning tools, as well as experience within a fully integrated ERP System (BaaN or SAP experience knowledge preferred, but significant experience utilizing other ERP systems will be considered).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  1. Create Shop Floor Production Plans and coordinate with Operations to ensure their successful execution based on business needs and available manufacturing capacity.
  2. Identify risks to developed production plans and coordinate contingency actions to maximize plan effectiveness.
  3. Investigate production control issues, analyze root causes, and systematically execute long-term solutions.
  4. Develop and report metrics for schedule attainment, capacity output and root cause of metric goal failures.
  5. Analyze production requirements and makes recommendations for optimal material flow, storage and delivery.
  6. Plans for on time delivery of material to support schedule adherence.
  7. Executes daily computer transactions of information into the production control system.
  8. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and hands on experience and knowledge of MRP systems, planning and executions, bills of material, and knowledge of material control scheduling. Maintenance and control of max/min levels, lead times, order quantities, re-order points.
  9. Significant understanding of lean manufacturing and JIT principles and how to apply them in the appropriate situation.
  10. Gather and Provide detailed data in reports and graphs to management, as necessary.
  11. Work with sales, production, manufacturing, shipping, inventory control and purchasing personnel in identifying and resolving production planning problems.
  12. Perform additional duties as required by supervision.

  • Associate degree in business from an accredited four year degree program higher learning institution.



  • Three (3) to five (5) years materials experience or similar experience that includes planning, forecasting and inventory control management in a heavy manufacturing process environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP software for production/inventory management.
  • This position will require Lean experience and knowledge.
  • Must demonstrate strong knowledge of production planning processes and data system information management.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree from a four year degree accredited higher learning institution.
  • BaaN or SAP experience is strongly preferred and/or strong background in production planning systems and ERP systems.
  • CPM, CSCP, CPIM or other professional certification for procurement or supply chain.
