This position will be focusing primarily on our Motive Power applications, which include industrial lift trucks and pallet jacks, rail equipment, mining equipment, and airline ground support equipment. Some of the motive power brands include Hawker, Ironclad, General Battery, and Fiamm. Wherever there is a need for motive power, EnerSys offers the perfect energy solution.


Job Purpose

Provide supervision, oversight and coordination of a wide variety of daily warehouse activities, to include shipping, receiving, storing and movement of product and raw materials, as well as ensuring the proper use and maintenance of all department material handling equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned or requested.

Communication with team members (e.g. verbal communications of quality standards, safety standards, safe working environment, state of the business, policy and procedures, warehouse goals and objectives, specifications and transactions, etc.)

Supervision of Warehouse Team Members (e.g. interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, discipline, training, documentation, counseling, coaching, promoting team work, motivating, supporting, etc. )

Establishing work schedules (e.g. planned and unplanned absences, work in warehouse as needed to cover, provide supplies, request materials, request support, input logistics information into MRP system, communicate with managers daily, etc.)

Oversee picking and shipping (domestic and international) of finished goods

Ensure accuracy of all warehouse transactions and oversee cycle counts and reconciliation activities

 Prepare appropriate report summaries

 Effective vendor and customer contact

 Conferring with other Team Leaders/Supervisors to coordinate activities between departments and effectively serve both internal and external customers

 Completes other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises from 5 to 35 direct reports on one or more shifts.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus two years college coursework completed highly desirable, with three to five year of relevant warehouse and shipping experience, and 1+ years in a lead or supervisory role (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Effective interpersonal skills, highly motivated, and efficient organizational and planning skills are required.

Language Skills: Fluent verbal and written skills in English

Mathematical Skills: High level of accuracy in basic math and use of 10 key calculator.  Familiar with such calculations as freight estimates, dimensional weights and percentages.

Computer Skills: Ability to utilize as well as create effective Excel spreadsheets, with overall understanding and proficiency of entire Microsoft Office system. Ability to learn new software applications as needed. 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to associate cause and affect relationships and determine patterns of activity in anticipation of change to the operation and/or personnel.

Other Skills and Abilities: Understanding of domestic and international transportation terms, conditions, and documentation (i.e. LTL, EXW, FOB, Intermodal, Incoterms, etc.)
