This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.
Job Purpose
The Electrician A Grade will be based at our Welshpool location, joining a small WA team of 8 employees from multiple departments, working to support the wider business. In this role you will be responsible to design, troubleshoot, modify, assemble, install, test, commission, diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical networks, systems, circuits, equipment, components, appliances, electrical wiring systems and associate fixtures, controls, equipment, facilities, service, and repair related equipment in the field and in advised locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- In the field for Energy Systems and Motive Power, as per advised locations, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems and associate fixtures, controls, equipment and facilities, and service and repair related equipment.
- Perform work to Australian Standards
- Examine blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications
- Measure and lay out installation reference points
- Select, cut, and connect wire and cable to terminals and connectors
- Use electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
- Repair and replace faulty wiring and defective parts
- Position and install electrical switchboards
- Connect electrical systems to power supply
- Test continuity of circuit
- Deal with staff, contractors, subcontractors, and members of the public in a polite and courteous manner
- Install and maintain 48v, 24v DC Power Systems for critical network systems
- Electrical installation, maintenance and repairs to GSM Shelters, equipment rooms, control rooms, electrical switch rooms, radar and satellite facilities, electrolyser shelters and DC power systems on site and in the Field
- Complete documentation and timesheets for each project for QA, OHS, legal, billing and compliance records
- Assist with estimating hours and materials for specific tasks

Educational/Vocational Requirements
Required:
• A Grade Electrician’s license
• Current Drivers Licence
• Ability to work at heights
• Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings
• Experience in Installing electrical conduits, pits, and underground reticulation
• Experience in installing LV boards, room air conditioning systems, and PLC control systems
• Basic skills in: Problem solving; Organisation; Communication & interpersonal skills; and Computer literacy – Microsoft Office / Windows environment
Preferred:
• LVR (Low Voltage Rescue) certificate (Preferrable, but not essential)
• Refrigeration licence (Preferrable, but not essential)
• First Aid Certificate (Preferrable, but not essential)
• Radhaz Certificate (Preferrable, but not essential)
• If working at heights: a current Elevated Work Platform certificate, Working at Heights Certificate and Tower Rescue certificate
